i'm graduating high school this spring and graduating community college in spring 2026. after that, the plan is to transfer to another school. how soon can i begin applying for colleges? does it have to be during the 2025-26 school year or can it be earlier?

As a transfer student you'd apply when you are in Community College already, but it doesn't have to be during your final year of community college. It would be during the 2025-26 year if your intent is to earn your associates degree first before you transfer, but you can apply in your first year in community college as well. I think typically people apply to transfer the year they'd be earning their AA, but it depends on your goals and the school you aim to transfer to.
