Meet the panelists: Villa, Abdul, and Breland
Villa is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Art in Biology with a Medicine and Society minor. Villa is the Women’s Advocacy Committee Co-Chair of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) at UH, Crisis Counsellor for Crisis Textline, and co-founder of AmplifyHER—a mentorship program meant to empower girls to own their voice and advocate for themselves. Outside of school, she enjoys skating, practicing yoga and meditation, visiting museums, and traveling.
Abdul is a junior in the Cullen College of Engineering. He is pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a concentration of Computer Engineering. Abdul is an active member of PROMES, a council member of I-EEE. Outside of school, he enjoys his time learning to code, traveling to new places, and playing basketball.
Breland is a Junior from Houston, Texas in the college of Liberal Arts. She is pursuing a B.A in English with a minor in Education. She has experience mentoring for Mentors of Tomorrow, being a camp counselor at University of Houston, and tutoring at Beaumont United High-School. She is going to school to follow her passion for teaching, mentoring, administration, and literature. Outside of school, she enjoys creative writing, traveling, mentoring, and watching Science-Fiction.

Work Experience: As a Co-Founder of CollegeVine, I lead the data science and admissions curriculum teams. I have worked with thousands of students and families over the course of 8 years. I have also spent time as a senior analyst in aviation operations, strategy, and marketing.
