What are some extracurricular spikes when it comes to psychology and/or sociology?
Answered

My academic interests are psychology and social sciences and I have no clue what extracurriculars outside and inside school I can do. Especially over this summer. Thanks!!

This might be a little helpful: https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-explore-your-interests-in-mental-health-and-psychology-while-youre-still-in-high-school/

Community work where you work with younger students can also be helpful (think mentorship programs/peer leader type of things). Or if you can volunteer in a psych department near you (will probably be very difficult to get into). If you can get involved in any programs which work to raise awareness for mental health that would be good. Maybe something like this? https://aimymh.org/volunteer/ (I don't know much about that program so please look into it more if you are interested). I haven't looked into this organization much but they seem like they could be promising to help find some volunteer opportunities: https://www.pointsoflight.org/volunteer/. And finally, this program seems great but you need to be 18: https://www.crisistextline.org/become-a-volunteer/. It might be good to keep it in mind as something to help build out a resume when you're older. ECs matter in college too!
